Hi there! I’m Millicent, and I love weaving words together to tell stories, getting cosy with cute video games, drinking way too much tea, and doomscrolling creating content on the internet. I’m from Melbourne, Australia, and consider myself a digital native after throwing myself into creating in online spaces for well over 20 years (yes, I’m older than Google).
Why did I choose the name Lunamori? I wanted to create a brand for myself that wasn’t exclusively using my full name as it once was. Don’t get me wrong, I love my name, but I felt it was something too many people struggled with, and honestly it felt difficult to brand. Which is ridiculous, of course. Still, I decided on Lunamori when thinking about things that I love. The seemingly endless night sky has always captured my imagination, and imagery of forests has always had a calming effect on my nervous system. That is what I wanted to build: something creative and cosy. When I put Luna (moon) and Mori (Japanese: forest) together, I liked the sound of it immensely. It felt right.
Unfortunately “Lunamori” was already claimed as a handle on most social platforms, so I had to throw back to earlier days on the internet where every username was filled with x’s of course! Nostalgia!
Lowkey I also told myself I was going to work so hard that when people Googled “Lunamori” it would be me they would find.
Looking for a friend to study or focus with? I’ve got you. I regularly go live on Twitch (xlunamori) with co-working streams, and also have co-working channels set up in my Discord server, Lunamori Village (almost everyone there is extremely friendly). I’m usually busy working on my latest writing project while live. If you have any questions about my novels, feel free to ask in chat there any time!
The games I main are my absolute favourites: Animal Crossing New Horizons and Stardew Valley, but you can absolutely expect to see other cosy games popping up on stream or in my other content.
Hope to see you around!
